D visa, purpose of stay: Religious service

The Republic of Serbia is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious state accommodating numerous religions practiced through rituals in accordance with the law.

If you are coming to the Republic of Serbia to conduct religious worship within your religious community, the church or religious community must be registered in the Republic of Serbia. You will need an extract from the register as proof you attach to your visa application.

To prove the grounds of your engagement, you need a copy of the contract or a letter from the representative of the church or religious community in the Republic of Serbia, confirming you are a priest or religious official who will conduct religious worship in the Republic of Serbia.

Below you can see a detailed list of required documents:

  1. a completed visa application form (within online application, or a printed copy if applying at a diplomatic-consular mission);
  2. valid passport (passport must be valid for at least 90 days after the intended date of departure from the Republic of Serbia, containing at least two consecutive blank pages and issued within the last 10 years);
  3. applicant’s photo*;
  4. proof of the paid fee for submitting a visa application, if submitted at a diplomatic-consular representation. If you are submitting the request in electronic form, the payment will be made in the final step of the process, and the request will be submitted to the competent authority, once the payment has been recorded;
  5. invitation letter*;
  6. proof of adequate and valid health insurance*, and proof of financial means at disposal for covering the costs of living during the intended stay*;
  7. certificate of registration of the church or religious community in the Republic of Serbia;
  8. employment contract or letter from a registered church or religious community in the Republic of Serbia stating that a foreign citizen is employed as a priest or religious official.
