Short-term visa (C visa), purpose of stay: Travel for tourist or private purposes

If you are coming to the Republic of Serbia for a private or tourist visit and plan to stay in the Republic of Serbia for up to 90 days within period of 180 days, you can apply for a C visa.

Documents required:

  1. a completed visa application form (within online application, or a printed copy if applying at a diplomatic-consular mission);
  2. a valid passport that must have been issued within the previous 10 years and is valid at least 90 days after the intended date of departure from the Republic of Serbia. The passport also needs to have at least two consecutive blank pages;
  3. applicant’s photo;
  4. invitation letter* in the case of a private visit, i.e. proof of accommodation or proof of itinerary from the travel agency in the case of a tourist visit;
  5. proof of possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance;
  6. proof of visa fee payment (electronic application is submitted to the competent authority upon payment of fee and recording of payment).

Additionally, to demonstrate the purpose of travel and the applicant's intention to leave the Republic of Serbia before the expiration of the requested visa, it is recommended to provide:

  • proof of financial means at disposal for covering the costs of living during the intended stay;
  • flight or multi-flight reservation, driver's license, vehicle insurance if travelling by own vehicle;
  • other proof of intent to return to home country or third country (certificate of employment/education, certificate of civil, family, social status, certificate of temporary residence in a third country if you reside in a country different from home country;
  • proof of relationship (kinship, friendship, etc.) between you and the person you are visiting, as well as any additional reasons for the visit.
Apply for a C visa

*Invitation letter: If the inviter of a foreign national to the Republic of Serbia is an individual, the invitation letter should contain:

  • The inviter's statement that they accept their duty to bear all the costs related to your stay and forced eviction from the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the costs of possible placement in a shelter for foreigners, if these costs cannot be collected from you;
  • Your details (first and last name, date of birth, citizenship, travel document details);
  • Inviter’s details (first and last name, date of birth, citizenship, phone number, residential address, reason to invite you to the Republic of Serbia);
  • other details relevant for visa issuance procedure.

The invitation letter of an individual must be verified by the competent document verification authority.
