D visa, purpose of stay: Seasonal jobs

Hiring seasonal workers in the Republic of Serbia is only possible for jobs of seasonal character in agriculture, forestry and fishing sectors. These jobs include planting, sowing, harvesting, fruit picking, soil preparation, pruning, fruit sorting, grazing, and other similar jobs.

Seasonal workers can be hired by sole proprietors or legal entities performing activities in these sectors in which seasonal jobs can be performed. Seasonal workers can also be hired by an individual who is the owner or member of a family agricultural holding.

If you are residing in the Republic of Serbia based on a short-term stay, or C visa or D visa issued for performing seasonal work, or approved temporary residence based on seasonal work, you can be hired to perform these jobs without the obligation to get a single residence and work permit.

The employer can hire you for up to 120 working days in a calendar year and registers and deregisters seasonal workers electronically with the Tax Administration.

The Law on Simplified Work Engagement for Seasonal Jobs in Certain Activities (“Official Gazette”, no. 50/18) governs the employment of seasonal workers in the Republic of Serbia.
